Tezos, a PoS blockchain, has initiated a massive upgrade, updating its consensus protocol in its ninth version. As per the report, the Ithaca 2 update replaces the existing consensus method, Emmy, with Tenderbake, which allows reduced block durations, resulting in speedier payments and ultra-smooth apps. Ithaca 2 optimizes the Tezos network for scaling initiatives, such as updates for the EVM compatibility, using pre-checking, a verification mechanism that enhances throughput. The Ithaca 2 update will also cut the criteria to become a system validator by 25%, from 8,000 XTZ to 6,000 XTZ, further increasing the network's decentralisation. The update will make the Tezos price prediction bullish. Tezos was created as another advancement in the field of 2nd-generation blockchain in 2018, after escaping from the avowed Blockchain. Tezos blockchain, often known as Tezzie, is able to support smart contracts and decentralized applications. What distinguishes Tezos from competitors is that decision-making is incorporated into the network itself. All Tezos users, i.e. holders in the native coin XTZ, participate in blockchain decisions, notably protocol updates.
